An homage to the creative agency’s founder, Younes Bendjima, the collaborative silhouette draws inspiration from both Algerian and French sources.
Designed with a bit of help from creative consultant Sam Jarou, the pair leads first with its sand suede construction, a choice that directly references the dunes of Southern Algeria. Black mesh pokes through on the toebox, midfoot and heel for a salute to ancient Algerian architecture — structures so grand they even inspired seminal French architect Le Corbusier — with a middle ground provided by the midfoot’s hi-vis reflective silver N graphic.
Tongues boast a hybrid mixture of mesh and leather, with standard branding replaced by a FY7 hit. On the lower half, midsoles supply a yin and yang of black and white tones while loading springy silver ABZORB cushioning in the heel and forefoot alike. Black outsoles round off the look. According to Studio FY7, the shoe is “a reminder that no matter where you walk in the world, you can, and should, be proud to carry your history and heritage wherever you go.”
